What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy. (Rei is universal, Ki is life energy)
It is the vital force that flows through all matter and can be activated for a powerful form of healing called Reiki.

Reiki is not a faith system. All that is required is an open mind, and a willingness to heal and be healed.

How it Works

The Reiki therapist channels the life energy (or life force as it is more usually called) through his or her hands into the patient's body, thereby enhancing the body's own natural ability to heal itself. Reiki works on all levels of a person's being, thereby reaching the root cause as well as physical symptoms.

According to Reiki principles, all illness and dis-ease comes about as a result of the natural flow of the life force being impaired in some way. Reiki helps to reinstate and balance out the flow of the life force through the body.

When the life force flows correctly, it is much easier to take up the task of living life as we would desire. Attitudes change, tiredness recedes, and our goals no longer seem impossible or so far away.

The Reiki energy is a very gentle form of healing and it is not open to abuse. The energy will always work in the best interests of the person receiving the treatment, without harm. It is one of the few holistic therapies suitable for any age and any situation i.e. pregnancy, serious or terminal illness, and complex health conditions.

Reiki Training

Those that undertake Reiki training are attuned by an 'attunement' process to the life force. The natural healing ability we all possess is realigned to give us much greater conscious control over its use. The effect of this is that the life force passes through the therapist without being impaired by their mental or emotional state.
